I listened to Rajiv on the radio for about 2 years. Then attended one of his free seminars. I had also emailed him for free advice for an elderly neighbor. My opinion of him was that he seemed caring and genuine, so my husband and I hired him to create our legal documents, as well as a lifeplan/roadmap. I found Rajiv to be all I thought he was, plus more. He took the time to get to know us as people. Our hopes and dreams, and our struggles. He involved us in every aspect of the process. So much of what he said resonated deeply within me. I had some sleepless nights as I contemplated this new way of thinking about how I want to live the rest of my life. Some of it had to do with thinking about family, and mending broken relationships. Or who would I entrust with my health or financial directives? Or who would be my beneficiary(s)? As well as the fact that I am not happy in my current job, but at almost 60, what to do about it? Rajiv kindly and compassionately discussed these issues with me and provided some facts and real options. Above all, I never felt like Rajiv was just doing his job. I believe he truly cares about me and my husband living our best lives now, and as we age. I was fortunate to have met Rajiv after going through a very difficult time in my life dealing with divorce and a cancer diagnosis. Rajiv was able to be honest with me and tell me exactly where I was financially as he proceeded to lay out the options I had to secure my future and to have my retirement look the way I wanted it to look. Rajiv’s approach was unique in that he took the time to really hear, and listen to what I wanted and needed and yet kindly and gently let me know when what I wanted didn’t line up with my financial situation. I listened to Rajiv’s radio program for years before talking my husband into attending a seminar. My husband left convinced we needed to address our aging issues. We are now in a lengthy process of creating a comprehensive life/estate plan that will serve us and our children well, as we age.
To be sure, the process is neither cheap nor easy. It isn’t quick. It requires a huge commitment from all parties to pull it together. Rajiv promised this at the beginning! To his credit, Rajiv and his staff have always been responsive to our questions and concerns. We feel heard and valued. Rajiv advises (after all, he’s an attorney!) but he is quick to offer alternatives, as appropriate. He has never made us feel less for asking him to explain, yet again, the why, how or when.
For critics who say the documents are boiler-plate and could be procured at lower cost, may I offer: the gains as you navigate this journey with Rajiv and his staff far outweigh what you’ll achieve from documents produced by most attorneys (or the internet) who look at legal solutions only. Rajiv’s holistic approach considers multiple aspects of the aging process, including legal, finances, family dynamics, housing and health. You’ll also have an opportunity to select professionals who can assist your agents when you are no longer able to take care of yourself.
Our recent family meeting, which we had somewhat dreaded (high emotions, fear, uncertainty), was handled by Rajiv in the most professional and sensitive way. He helped our family understand their roles, the difficult and frequently unpredictable nature of aging, and treated them with the utmost regard. My respect, trust and affection for Rajiv grew as I observed how he directed the meeting, offering his advice and compassion to my children. My husband and I have been working with Rajiv on our life planning this past year and it has been an eye opening experience. This is not just a sit down and write a will, but way more comprehensive and thought provoking. What I loved the most is that Life Point Law takes a different (from standard Estate planning) approach in planning - We plan that we will live a long time and that we will most likely need some kind of care as we age thus having enough money to get proper care during the aging process and not being a burden to others should we need special care was important to us. The end result after a 12 months of work, is a concise book with our specific plan, our fiduciary contacts and a plan of action all in writing. With the help of Life Point Law we just got approval of Medicaid Benefits for my 86 yr old father-in law, who needed help transitioning from home to a Senior Living Facility with skilled nursing care. After initially attending one of Rajiv Nagaich’s seminars on elder care planning we could see immediately that Rajiv understood the special needs of a senior family member and the issues of care, paying for care, and protecting ones assets. We learned about how they could help us find the right place for the needed care and that Medicaid could help pay for it and protect the family assets.
The process can be complicated and emotional with lots of moving parts. Once we got started we worked with staff attorney, Aaron Paker who guided us through all the details of getting ready to and actually applying for Medicaid. It took a while to get done but we are grateful to Aaron and his team for all the effort that went into it.
My father in law is now getting the care he needs in a setting he likes. His wife has moved into an independent living apartment that she likes as well in an adjoining building at the same facility. This allows them to visit daily.
For the first time in many years we as a family can start to feel like our parents are cared for and their assets won’t be used to pay for specialized care until they run out of money. We are very grateful to Aaron Paker, Rajiv Nagaich, and the rest of the team at Life Point Law. We know we would not have done this without them.

He also outlines a timeline and to do list for himself on his responsibilities. He outlines a timeline for the entire process and had access and referrals available in every category of need so I don't understand how someone can say they were left without guidance. As a nurse, I know the guidance on health issues is spot on, and even though I am reluctant to look at care facilities at my age...the advice to look now just to see what is out there is good advice.
